You are as warm and welcoming as a candlefire.

Add 1 success per 2m spent. Alternatively, add +1 Guile per 2m spent.

If your Appearance is higher than your target’s Resolve, you get 1 non-Charm bonus die for every point of the difference.

Wary Yellow Dog Attitude

You bring your blade to hand with startling speed; it was clear to you from the beginning that this could never go any other way.

Use this Charm when combat breaks out during social interaction. Roll Join Battle with ([Perception or Wits] + Socialize). If you have successfully Read Intentions or influenced an opponent during the scene so far, you roll 1 non-Charm bonus die for every 10 you roll.


Friend-to-All-Nations Attitude

Even barbarians find you charming.

After you spend at least 1 hour socalizing with a group or a foreign culture, gain a Socialize specialty in that group or foreign culture. You may have up to (Essence) simultaneous specialties from this Charm.


Loyalty-Reading Meditation

Cost: 4m; Mins: Socialize 3, Essence 1

Type: Supplemental (Read Intentions); Duration: Instant

Your eyes flash with fire and you see the hearts of your fellow humans.

If you use Read Intentions to undercover an emotional Intimacy, your target takes a -(that Intimacy’s strength) penalty to their Guile.


Smoke-Wreathed Mien

Cost: 3m; Mins: Socialize 3, Essence 1

Type: Reflexive; Duration: Instant

Your carefully-cultivated attitude of languid disinterest is just a front for your real heart.

Use this Charm when someone you’re aware of uses Read Inentions. Every 1 they roll makes them reroll a successful die – keeping the failure if rolled – for up to (Essence) 1s. He starts with his 7s and moves up from there.


Auspicious First Meeting Attitude

Your projected self is flexible and fluid like water; you are what they want and need you to be.

Use this Charm when meeting someone for the first time. Roll ([Charisma, Appearance, or Perception] + Socialize) to both Read Intentions and Instill some positive Minor Tie toward you. Your target defends with (lower of Guile or Resolve) against both influences.

Essence 2

Sister-Against-Sister Insinutation

Cost: 5m; Mins: Socialize 3, Essence 2

Type: Simple; Duration: Instant

Prerequisite Charms: Wary Yellow Dog Attitude

Your fiery serpent tongue turns sister against sister and shepherd against lamb.

Make a roll with double 9s to either: weaken a positive Tie the target has toward another character who exists in their society or social group; or, Instill a negative Tie toward such a character in the target. The target cannot use an Intimacy related to their culture or social group to strengthen their Resolve against this roll.


Seizing the Tongue Technique

Cost: 6m; Mins: Socialize 3, Essence 2

Type: Supplemental (Any Influence Roll); Duration: Instant

Prerequisite Charms: Friend-to-All-Nations Attitude

This Charm can also be used to enhance an influence roll made with Presence.

Reroll up to (Essence) failed dice that didn’t come up as a 1.

AIR AURA – Use this Charm reflexively after you’ve made the roll.


Sweeten-the-Tap Method

Cost: 5m, 1wp; Mins: Socialize 3, Essence 2

Type: Simple; Duration: One scene

Keywords: Fire/Wood

Prerequisite Charms: Friend-to-All-Nations Attitude

Intoxicants are the great lubricator of social friction.

This Charm can only be used while you are serving intoxicants. It makes them all-around better: wines become sweeter, tobacco more full, etc.

Each character who partakes gets -1 Guile and is treated as though they have a positive Minor Tie toward each of their fellow partygoers.

If anyone botches a social roll in front of the inebriated, the party turns against them. Each of the characters affected by this Charm loses their positive Minor Tie toward the botcher and gets a negative one instead

Regardless, this effect disappears once they sober up.


Impeccable Purity Lavation

Cost: 5m, 1wp; Mins: Socialize 3, Essence 2

Type: Simple; Duration: (Essence + Appearance) days

Keywords: Mute, Water

Prerequisite Charms: Friend-to-All-Nations Attitude

Infused with cleansing Water Essence, you cannot be dirtied or sullied by the imperfections of the world.

You may use this Charm after you spend at least one hour bathing. For the duration of this Charm, you and your clothes cannot be stained or dirtied by any mundane material.

Any character you interact with is treated as having a positive Minor Tie toward you, the context of which you can specify per-character. If you interact with a character that already has a positive Tie toward you, they get -1 Resolve instead. Any affected character may spend 1wp to become immune to this Charm. If you offend someone or treat them demandingly, the magic instantly breaks for them.


Shadow-Dispersing Radiance

Cost: 1m, 1wp; Mins: Socialize 4, Essence 2

Type: Supplemental (Read Intentions); Duration: Instant

Your good looks and charm crack the facade of even the iciest queen.

You get one non-Charm bonus die for every point your Appearance is higher than your target’s Guile.


Eye-for-Passions Scrutiny

Cost: 2m; Mins: Socialize 5, Essence 2

Type: Supplemental (Read Intentions); Duration: Instant

Prerequisite Charms: Shadow-Dispersing Radiance

Your burning gaze cracks your target’s shell like clay in a blazing kiln.

If you succeed, you learn an additional, second Intimacy related to the first.


Watching the Salon’s Shadows

Your neck burns as eyes you cannot see drill into you…

Use this Charm when someone you are unaware of Reads Intentions against you. You get +1 Guile.

If he fails in his roll against you, you get double 9s on your roll to detect him.


Smoke Without Flame

Cost: 4m, 1wp; Mins: Socialize 5, Essence 2

Type: Reflexive; Duration: Instant

Prerequisite Charms: Smoke-Wreathed Mien

Those who believe fire is always apparent forget the lessons of Hesiesh. Fire can be subtle as well; or fire can lie.

Get +1 Guile when another character makes a Read Intentions roll.

If he fails, he doesn’t realize it. Instead, he believes he’s succeeded, but gains incorrect information. He perceives an exaggerated version of you, either exaggerating your current emotions or the context of one of your Intimacies. You choose the emotion and how it is exaggerated.

For example, he may perceive your boredom as a soul-crushing ennui that plagues your every moment; your interest in a pretty face as a love worthy of a ballad; your distaste for a faux pas as the intimations of a hateful lifelong vendetta against the person.

FIRE AURA – The +1 Guile doesn’t count as a Charm bonus.
